Crispin Chettri Appointed Assistant Coach of MSC







Crispin Chettri (AIFF A Licensed Coach) from Kurseong has been appointed as an Assistant Coach of Mohammedan Sporting Club of Kolkata. The Black Panthers have recently qualified for the I-League.

It is good opportunity for Crispin to hone his skills under the Spanish Head Coach, Mr.Jose Hevia who is a UEFA Pro-licensed with more than 25 years of experience. Prior to this Crispin had worked as a coach at Lonestar Kashmir FC.

As a player Crispin played professional football for more than a decade with various clubs like Chirag United, Pune FC and East Bengal to name a few. In 1999 he had represented the country in the Asia Youth Championship.

RONGO GOLD CUP

Long before the well known tournaments of our region which are doing so well in the present times, Rongo had started a Gold Cup football tournament in the 90s officially "KB Rai Memorial Gold Cup" organized by the Rongo Sporting Club. If I'm not wrong the first edition was held in 1991 & after continuing for few more years it never happened again. I hope when someone writes the history of football in the Darjeeling hills. Rongo Gold Cup will find a place in it. I still remember as a little boy how impressed I was with the Gold Cup trophy. It hand a silver hand holding the gold football. Nicely placed inside a glass frame, have to say the design was way ahead of times. The winning team was awarded the trophy and they could keep it till the next edition of the tournament. Registration Open For Sanju Football Academy Winter Coaching Camp.

PRESS RELEASE Sombaria: Sanju Football Academy, Sombaria will be hosting a winter football coaching camp for boys and girls aged between 10 to 15 years from 24th December 2021 to 16th January 2022.  From next year the Academy management has plans to launch a hostel and through this camp talented players will be selected for the same.  "The main aim of this camp is to teach the basics of football to the young players and also to share my experience of playing professional football all these years for different clubs and country".
